As asylum-seekers struggle while waiting for work permits, Chicago businesses can`t fill jobs

More than 10,000 asylum-seekers, mostly from Venezuela, have arrived in Chicago since August. Long wait times required for federal work authorization mean it`ll still be months before they can get work permits, forcing many to take jobs under the table.
